I'm working on some research on Mamie and your beautifully written piece is a great help. And where did you find such charming pictures of her? Thanks for making her seem pretty delightful. Later in life she tends to come off rather shallow in other pieces I've seen, but they never mentioned her terrific losses as a young girl or the moving around. Or the difficulty between what her family wanted for her socially and her decision to marry Ike. Well reported. It sure puts that personality in a different light. Thanks.

To everyone who commented; Thanks for the kind words and I'm glad you enjoyed the story. The Eisenhowers were indeed part of Denver's history. Linda Wommack

I love the story about Marnie Eisenhower. I knew how important Eisenhower was to this State (Eisenhower Tunnel), but had no idea of her history. Thanks again for writing this.

A very interesting story - we only seem to see photos of Mamie looking matronly and stern.
I have also enjoyed your book "From the Grave"
